What is Genital Steaming?
Just like it sounds, genital steaming is, literally, the use of steam for the genitals. This ancient practice, used medicinally by midwives and healers, and by those with genitals around the world for self care, is an easy, accessible and affordable ritual. Essentially, it is water that is hot enough to produce steam, placed in a pot with or without herbs, and the person sits or squats comfortably to allow the steam to penetrate the perineum, genitals, and into the internal canal. For those with a cervix, the steam can penetrate into the cervix and for those with a uterus, the steam will enter the uterus via the canal and cervix.
